Local fashion designers launch Super Bowl LVII collection

The NFL is hosting its second annual sports merchandise collection in collaboration with prominent local designers.

OXDX, a Native-owned clothing label based out of Tempe, is the first of four Arizona brands creating limited-edition Super Bowl merch. Founder Jared Kee Yazzie and partner Allie Stone hope to use OXDX to bring indigenous stories and art to the forefront.

TEMPE, Ariz. — Looking to get geared up for Super Bowl LVII but lacking inspiration? Well, the NFL announced several local fashion designers from the Valley were selected to launch a special collection of Super Bowl LVII merchandise. 

Origins: An NFL Collectiona limited-edition collection will be held at a pop-up event on Feb. 8 at The Showcase Room in Tempe. 

The NFL launched the grassroots program for Super Bowl LVI last year to collaborate with designers in host cities and serve as a platform to combine local roots and a passion for football.

The unique shopping experience celebrates the cultural richness of Arizona and highlights the talent of local designers. The prominent designers of Ashley Macias, Elias Jade Not Afraid, Manor and OXDS created special capsules with hoodies, sweats, jewelry and more.

The event will be held from 2-6 p.m. and will also offer interactive brand installations, music, and refreshments. You can RSVP for the event in advance.

Meanwhile, Glendale will host the Super Bowl itself, and city officials told 12News Glendale has had the explosive growth it needs to match it

Visitors can expect roadway and parking improvements, top-of-the-line security, and a newly expanded entertainment district ahead – a project that's been years in the making.
