Man dies after shooting at 7-Eleven store in Phoenix

A 27-year-old man was killed and another man was wounded after they were shot early Thursday morning at a 7-Eleven store.

PHOENIX — A 27-year-old man has died after he was fatally shot during a confrontation with an armed suspect at a 7-Eleven store in Phoenix.

Kevin Turner died after sustaining a fatal gunshot wound at about 2:30 a.m. Thursday at the convenience store near 48th Street and McDowell Road, Phoenix police said.

Another man was shot and taken to the hospital. Police said his injuries are non-life-threatening.

The shooter fled the scene before police officers arrived.

Detectives believe an argument took place between the victims and the suspect before shots were fired.

On Friday, police said 38-year-old Devalon Jackson has been taken into custody for his alleged involvement in the shooting.
