Motorcyclist taken to hospital with minor injuries after crash involving police unit

The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. Here's what we know so far.

GOODYEAR, Ariz. — A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after being involved in a crash with a police unit, according to officials with the Goodyear Police Department

The crash happened Friday evening near 173rd Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road. The officer was evaluated at the scene. Both the office and the motorcyclist are expected to be OK.

Goodyear police are turning the investigation over to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, officials said. 

There are no details regarding how the crash happened or who was at fault.
