Road reopens in the West Valley after crash sends 1 person to the hospital

Police say a car crashed into a tree near 95th Avenue and Beardsley Road in Peoria on Saturday. One person was seriously hurt. Here are the latest details.

PEORIA, Ariz. — One person has been sent to a hospital after a serious crash in Peoria on Saturday, the city's police department announced. 

Peoria police said a car crashed into a tree near the intersection of 95th Avenue and Beardsley Road on Sunday. The driver of the car, only identified as an adult, was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. 

Police had closed 95th Avenue in both directions between Beardsley Road and Clara Lane. The road re-opened around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. 

Police added that it is not yet known whether speed or impairment were factors in this crash.
