Freshman Jaden Rashada was supposed to start for ASU in the Territorial Cup vs. Arizona. Here's why that changed

Rashada was announced as ASU's starter in their rivalry game vs. Arizona on Friday, but plans have changed. Here's why

TEMPE, Ariz. — On Friday, reports surfaced that ASU freshman quarterback Jaden Rashada would return from injury and start for the Sun Devils in the Territorial Cup vs. archrival Arizona.

However, plans have changed as new reports say that junior QB Trenton Bourguet will instead get the start.

SunDevilSource.com's Chris Karpman was the first to report the news. Rashada was reportedly late to a team meeting on Friday. Team policy states that players who are late to meetings cannot start the upcoming game.

Karpman reports that other players who have broken this rule have usually only missed the first series, so Rashada will likely still play most of the game, he just won't start.

Rashada was ASU's starting quarterback for the first two games of the season before going down with an injury but still leads ASU with three passing touchdowns.
