Police: Suspect rammed car into Glendale residence, barricaded themselves inside until subdued by K-9

The suspect was taken to the hospital and will be booked into jail for multiple felony charges.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — A suspect has been taken into custody after they allegedly rammed a car into a Glendale residence and then barricaded themselves inside.

Glendale police said the incident occurred at about 10:30 a.m. near 63rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road. 

The suspect drove to the residence of a person they share a child with. Police said the suspect, who doesn't live at the residence, rammed a vehicle into the home's garage and then barricaded inside the residence.

Officers managed to evacuate the other occupants of the home and then utilized a police dog to detain the suspect. 

Police said the suspect sustained injuries from the K-9 and was taken to the hospital. Upon their release, the suspect will be booked into jail for multiple felony charges.

Police have not yet disclosed the suspect's identity.

The county’s seat is located in Phoenix, which is also the state capital and the census-designated 5th most populous city in the United States.

The county was named after the Maricopa, or Piipaash, Native American Tribe.
