1 adult, 1 child injured in west Phoenix fire

Both an adult and a child were taken to the hospital in critical condition, authorities say. Here are the latest details.

PHOENIX — An adult and a child are injured following an apartment fire in west Phoenix, the city fire department said. 

Phoenix firefighters got to the scene of a two-story apartment complex near Indian School Road and 67th Avenue around 11 p.m. Friday. Authorities said the crews found one man and one child in the apartment. They were transported to a local burn center in critical condition.

The fire was contained to the original apartment, authorities said. Fire investigators are on scene and are trying to determine the cause of the fire.
