Woman dies after being shot during domestic dispute in Glendale

The Glendale Police Department said the woman was shot sometime around 9 p.m. near 51st and Peoria Avenues.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — A woman died after being shot during a domestic dispute in Glendale, according to authorities. The suspect ended up shooting himself after being pulled over by police a short time later.

The Glendale Police Department found 39-year-old Katrina Comtois with multiple gunshot wounds around 9 p.m. near 51st and Peoria Avenues. First responders took her to the hospital where she later died.

Three of Comtois's children were in the home at the time of the shooting, but were not injured.

Police said Comtois's long-term partner, 52-year-old Scott McKervey, fled the scene and was later located near 59th and Peoria avenues. Officers pulled the vehicle over and McKervey got out of the vehicle with a gun and shot himself, authorities said. He was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police said 59th Avenue has been shut down from Cholla Street to Peoria Avenue, as the incident is investigated. The area will be closed for several hours, officials said.

This is a developing story; additional details will be added as they become available.
