It looks like winter isn't over in Arizona just yet.

A winter weather advisory has been issued for Thursday for portions of Northern Arizona and temperatures are expected to cool off again in Phoenix. The culprit? A Pacific storm system, according to the National Weather Service. The storm system, rich with "Pacific moisture," will bring rain, snow, gusty winds and cooler temperatures to State 48.

The storm track is expected to persist into the weekend, the NWS said.

Winter weather advisories are in effect in the High Country. According to the NWS. The snow will begin Thursday, mostly above 7,000 feet. Snow levels will progressively drop heading into the weekend, but NWS said the heaviest and most widespread snow is expected on Thursday night into Friday.

If you're traveling during the winter weather, you may want to hit the road early Thursday morning or wait to drive until Saturday. Friday is a moderate weather risk level for driving, with rain and snow expected throughout the day.

If you are driving, NWS said to winterize your vehicle and pack a supply kit, just in case.

Have you been enjoying the sunshine? We have, too, but don't put away your winter gear just yet. The warm temperatures are expected to cool off starting Thursday, with lows in the 50s and even 40s heading into the weekend.

There is also potential for a half-inch of rainfall from Thursday morning into Friday evening. The NWS said the rain could cause longer than normal commutes and minor roadway flooding.

The wet weather conditions are not likely to let up, either: the NWS predicts above-normal precipitation for parts of Arizona from Feb. 5-9.
