Buckeye crash involves wrong-way driver, DPS says

The driver of the vehicle headed the wrong way was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities say.

BUCKEYE, Ariz. — One person is dead and five more were taken to the hospital after a crash in Buckeye involved a wrong-way driver, authorities said. 

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said a wrong-way vehicle was driving south on the northbound lanes of State Route 85 in Buckeye Thursday night. That vehicle was then reported to be involved in a head-on crash. 

The driver of the wrong-way vehicle, later identified as 47-year-old Eldorado Brown, was dead at the scene, authorities said. 

The five people in the other vehicle were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
