SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Drivers in North Scottsdale could deal with longer than usual commutes later this month when the Arizona Dept. of Transportation closes an additional Loop 101 freeway ramp, as part of the Loop 101 widening project in North Scottsdale.

Starting at 1 a.m. on Monday, April 29, the northbound Loop 101 off-ramp at Cactus Road will close for up to 60 days, according to ADOT. At the same time, the Shea Boulevard on-ramp to northbound Loop 101 will stay closed through mid-June. ADOT closed the Shea Boulevard on-ramp on April 15. Closures are required on both the Cactus Road off-ramp and the Shea Boulevard on-ramp to northbound Loop 101 for ramp reconstruction.

ADOT recommends drivers use the following detours in the image below:

  • Drivers traveling east of the Loop 101 are encouraged to use the northbound Loop 101 off-ramp at Shea Boulevard to northbound 92nd Street to access Cactus Road.
  • Drivers traveling west of the Loop 101 are encouraged to use the northbound Loop 101 off-ramp at Shea Boulevard to Hayden Road to access Cactus Road.

North Scottsdale drivers should expect more congestion on near this area while the two freeway ramps are closed.
