PHOENIX — As construction continues for I-10 Broadway Curve improvement project, the Arizona Dept. of Transportation is planning additional ramp closures and restrictions later this year.

The eastbound I-10 off-ramp at 32nd Street closed in March, and crews will keep it closed until Early June, according to ADOT. While this closure is in place, drivers are encouraged to use the eastbound I-10 off-ramp at 40th Street instead.

This month, construction crews are working to add addtional travel lanes to widen I-10 over the Salt River, according to ADOT.

The April newsletter published by ADOT said, "during the weekend of April 12-15, crews placed the bridge deck of the new westbound I-10 lane, which is the part of a bridge vehicles drive on. Crews expect to place the bridge deck for the new eastbound lane during the summer and plan to open the new lanes to traffic in the fall."

While the specific dates have not been released, later this year, ADOT is planning the following long-term closures and restrictions:

  • The I-10 off-ramp at Baseline Road.
  • The westbound I-10 on-ramp at 32nd Street.
  • The high-occupancy vehicle ramps that connect US 60 and I-10.
  • Guadalupe Road between Pointe Parkway and Calle Sahuaro.

The I-10 Broadway Curve project is expected to finish in "late 2024," according to ADOT.
