DPS trooper involved in crash on I-17 in north Phoenix

The trooper was investigating a different crash when an unrelated vehicle hit his patrol vehicle, authorities said.

PHOENIX — An Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper was involved in a crash on Interstate 17 in north Phoenix Friday morning, authorities said. 

The trooper was investigating a previous crash when another vehicle hit his patrol vehicle. Authorities said the trooper was not injured and all people involved remained at the scene. 

Some of the northbound lanes were closed for investigation but have since reopened.
