4-year-old child hit by vehicle in Surprise

The child was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons, police say.

SURPRISE, Ariz. — A four-year-old child was hit by a vehicle in Surprise, police said.

Just before 10 a.m. on Saturday, Surprise police officers responded to a private property crash near Litchfield and Waddell roads. Police said the driver of the vehicle was exiting the parking lot and hit the child.

The child was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons, police said.

Police did not give any further information regarding what led up to the crash or release the identities of those involved.
