Arizona GOP event canceled after Trump backs out; refunds to be issued

The former president was scheduled to speak at the AZGOP Freedom Fest on Jan. 26, which was canceled after Trump's court requirements forced him to back out.

PHOENIX — Former President Donald Trump will no longer be making an appearance in Arizona at the GOP Freedom Fest — which has now been canceled — according to the Arizona Republican Party. 

Trump was scheduled to be a special speaker at the Arizona GOP's Freedom Fest on Jan. 26 at the Dream City Church, the Arizona Republican Party announced Jan. 15. 

The event was canceled after Trump's announcement. Trump will be in New York City for a court appearance on Friday.

According to a spokesperson from the Arizona GOP, refunds will be issued.
