Business owners and winter visitors can now submit important paperwork to police electronically, allowing officers to patrol their property and arrest trespassers.

The Phoenix Police Department has made the "Authority to Arrest" form available online. Filing this form allows police officers to patrol businesses, lots and vacant homes and arrest people who may be trespassing.

Police say this form is useful for property owners, winter visitors and businesses.

"Please keep in mind the 'Authority to Arrest for Trespass' program can only be used after business hours or if your property is vacant," said Police Chief Jeri Williams in a written statement.

"No trespassing" signs must be posted at common entrances to these areas. Learn more here.
