Phoenix getting ready for Final Four weekend

The NCAA men’s Final Four is coming to the Valley for the first time and downtown Phoenix is pulling out all the stops.

PHOENIX - The NCAA men’s Final Four is coming to the Valley for the first time and downtown Phoenix is pulling out all the stops.

“We’ll have about 80-90,000 that’ll come here over the space of those four days,” said Dawn Rogers, the executive director and CEO of the 2017 Phoenix Final Four.

The Final Four basketball games will be played at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale. The fan festivities will be held in downtown Phoenix starting Friday, March 31 through Monday, April 3.

Crews have begun to put together the Final Four Fan Fest at the Phoenix Convention Center. It’ll have plenty of interactive activities. However, it won’t all be about basketball.

“The NCAA has 89 other championships. There’ll be different sports represented down here as well. So there is a little bit of something for everyone,” said Rogers.

The March Madness Music Festival will be held at Margaret T. Hance Park, about a mile north of the convention center. It will feature some of music’s biggest names for free:

Keith Urban – Friday, March 31
The Chainsmokers – Saturday, April 1
Aerosmith – Sunday, April 2
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – Sunday, April 2

Lots of easy ways to get to either event.

“There will be pedicabs. There will be a trolley to pick you up and drop you off and it’s just an easy walk as well. There’s a bunch of ways to get back and forth,” said Rogers.

Rogers says no backpacks or purses will be allowed at any of the events, only clear plastic bags. All the information fans need about the events on the Final Four's website.
