TEMPE, Ariz. — A fire destroyed a mobile home on Friday afternoon, according to Tempe Fire Department officials.
The fire was near University Drive and Loop 101.
Fire crews arrived to find the double-wide mobile home engulfed in flames. They quickly put water on the fire and nearby homes to prevent the fire from spreading, officials with the Tempe Fire Department said.
"There was fire impingement to a gas line which was secured quickly," officials said in a statement. "Southwest Gas is on scene to ensure there are no further hazards."
The home was a total loss, officials said, and one person has been displaced.

Heavy black smoke from the fire could be seen from downtown Phoenix. An ADOT camera on University Drive caught footage of the smoke coming from the home.
Fire investigators are trying to determine what caused the fire.
