Juvenile shot in north Phoenix

Phoenix police officers responded to reports of a shooting near 19th Avenue and Cactus Road just 12 a.m. on Sunday.

PHOENIX — A juvenile is in the hospital with a gunshot wound following a shooting in north Phoenix, city police said.

Phoenix police responded to the area near 19th Avenue and Cactus Road just after 12 a.m. on Sunday for reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a juvenile suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Police did not say how old the juvenile is.

The victim was taken to a local area hospital. Police did not give an update on the victim's condition.

Detectives are investigating the scene. Police did not release the juvenile's name or any suspect information.
