MESA, Ariz. — A woman is dead after a shooting involving Mesa police officers on Thursday.
Mesa police have launched an investigation after their officers were involved in a shooting in a neighborhood north of Center Street and Brown Road.

Mesa police sent out information after the incident saying the female suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. She's been identified as 24-year-old Rachel Rodriguez.
The woman had allegedly been threatening her boyfriend with a knife. Officers heard the man in distress and decided to enter the residence and upon entry, the shooting occurred.
"The Mesa Police Department is working an officer-involved shooting at Center and 14th Place. The scene is secure and no officers have been injured," police announced on X.
Mesa police said one officer fired their weapon.
Authorities said there are no other outstanding suspects and there is no danger to the community.
