Guide to spring training stadiums: Reds' and Indians' Goodyear Ballpark

A true spring training spot for Ohio baseball fans in the Valley.

GOODYEAR, Ariz. — Goodyear Ballpark is the place where you'll run into plenty of Ohio baseball fans during spring training.

The stadium is the Cactus League home of the Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds.

The Reds, one of the newer Cactus League members, came to the Valley shortly after the park opened in 2009. The Indians' training in Arizona dates back to 1947 in Tucson. But after more than a decade spring training in Flordia from 1993-2008, the team returned to the Grand Canyon State.

How to get tickets

You can find tickets on both the Reds' and Indians' websites. Tickets can also be purchased at the stadium ticket office at 1933 S. Ballpark Way Goodyear.

The park also offers a free Outfield Box, Outfield Reserved or Berm ticket, and four more at the group rate, for active duty or retired military and National Guard/Reserve members.

Parking

Parking is available in several different parking lots surrounding the stadium.

Ballpark highlights

If you've ever been to the Goodyear Ballpark chances are you've see the baseball-themed sculpture "The Ziz," which stands 60 feet, 6 inches (the distance from the pitcher's mound to home plate) in the Home Plate Plaza.

There's also a free kids zone and kids can run the bases after every Sunday game.

As for food, take a bite out of a tacquito dog or some of the Ohio flavor like a Skyline chili dog, Bertman Ball Park mustard or a Cleveland Polish Boy.
