City bus involved in fatal crash on Loop 202 Red Mountain

DPS is investigating a crash between a pickup truck and a city bus that left one person dead.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — One person is dead after a crash involving a city bus on Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway near Scottsdale, officials with the Department of Public Safety said.

According to early reports, the crash happened Thursday evening at milepost 7.

A Valley Metro bus was disabled in one of lanes when a Ford Ranger pickup rear-ended the bus with no evidence of breaking before impact, according to DPS.

The deceased driver of the truck has been identified as 61-year-old Leslie Harriman of Phoenix.
