Check out this cool critter spotted in an Arizona state park

The ringtail is often mistaken for a cat, but is actually a member of the raccoon family and has been Arizona's state mammal since 1986.

PICACHO, Ariz. — Rare sighting! While many cute animal moments are caught on "Ring" cameras these days, one cute critter moment was captured in Picacho Peak State Park.

The animal featured in a video taken by Ryan Hustin and shared on Facebook by the Arizona Game and Fish Department is a "ringtail." Ringtails are commonly mistaken for cats but are members of the raccoon family and have been Arizona's state mammal since 1986.

The cute critter was spotted around 9 a.m. in Picacho Peak State Park, according to AZGF. Ringtails are usually only out at night, making this sighting a rare one.
