MESA, Ariz. — A destructive residential fire reported in Mesa on Wednesday may have been caused by an electric scooter, according to the Mesa Fire Department.
A scooter located in the living room of a home near Country Club Drive and Brown Road reportedly caught fire, which rapidly spread but was contained to a single unit.
The property sustained heavy damage.
No injuries were reported and all occupants managed to exit the unit, the fire department said.

The county’s seat is located in Phoenix, which is also the state capital and the census-designated 5th most populous city in the United States.
The county was named after the Maricopa, or Piipaash, Native American Tribe.
