'Illegal bar' shut down at Country Thunder, authorities say

FLORENCE, Ariz. — The Country Thunder music festival had more than tunes last weekend. The State of Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control said they made 19 arrests, seized 111 bottles of alcohol and even shut down an "illegal" bar. 

The DLLC conducted alcohol enforcement during the festival in Florence from April 11 to 14. According to a news release, DLLC agents made 970 contacts, 19 arrests with 30 charges, and shut down one "illegal bar," throughout the weekend.

  • April 11: Six arrests made, six total charges
  • April 12: One arrest made, four total charges and one "admin case"
  • April 13: Nine arrests made, 14 total charges, as well as 111 bottles of alcohol seized and 1 "illegal bar" shut down
  • April 14: Three arrests made, six total charges
