Man sustains life-threatening injuries after plane crash in Navajo County

The aircraft, a Remos GX, crashed near Taylor, according to NTSB.

TAYLOR, Arizona — The National Transportation Safety Board said it is investigating a plane crash in Navajo County.

According to the Snowflake-Taylor Police Department, the pilot, identified as a 68-year-old man, suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash.

The 68-year-old Show Low man has been transported to a Phoenix-area hospital for life-threatening injuries, police said.

The single-engine plane, a Remos GX, crashed at Taylor Municipal Airport, around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday morning, the FAA said.

"The initial information is that it appears the plane crashed while taking off," the police department said.

The pilot was the only person on board at the time of the crash.

Another pilot flying overhead spotted the plane and contacted emergency services.
