PD: 1 dead, 1 hurt in double shooting in north Phoenix neighborhood

The shooting happened late Thursday night in a neighborhood near 35th Avenue and Thunderbird Road.

PHOENIX — One man is dead and another is in the hospital after a shooting in a north Phoenix neighborhood, city police said.

Officers were called to the neighborhood, east of 35th Avenue and Thunderbird Road, for reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found the two men suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both men were rushed to the hospital where one later died. The other man's injuries weren't life-threatening, police said.

The investigation is still underway and details about what led up to the shooting are limited. Police haven't disclosed the identity of the deceased or the injured man as of Friday morning.

Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case. 

Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
