Man seriously injured in shooting at Mesa strip mall

The shooting happened near the intersection of 8th Avenue and Alma School Road around 6 p.m. on Saturday. Here are the latest details.

MESA, Ariz. — A man is fighting for his life after being shot at a strip mall in Mesa on Saturday, according to Mesa police

The department says the shooting happened around 6 p.m. on Saturday at a strip mall at the intersection of 8th Avenue and Alma School Road. 

When officers got the scene, they were told to go to the south side of the strip mall where they found the man injured. They began life-saving measures and continued until firefighters took over. 

He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

The victim has not been identified and detectives are working to find out what led up to the shooting. 

No one has been arrested in this case.

Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case.

Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
