'Steer' clear: An escaped bull took a walk near an Arizona highway before returned home

The escaped steer was first spotted in the HOV lane of I-17 between Happy Valley and Jomax roads, authorities say.

PHOENIX — On Thanksgiving day, traffic is to be expected. But a bull on the freeway? "Moo-ove" over, turkey, there’s a new animal on the scene.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety was dispatched to the scene of an escaped bull early Friday morning. The bull was first spotted on ADOT cameras in the HOV lane of Interstate 17, in between Happy Valley and Jomax roads, DPS said.

Then help arrived to return the bull back to its home.

Don’t worry, no animals or humans were harmed during the incident. DPS troopers were able to get the escaped bull back on the other side of the fence from where it came from.

Hopefully next time, the bull will "steer" clear of the roadways.
