Up to 8 inches of snow could fall in portions of Arizona this week. Here's a breakdown of possible snow totals by location.

Hazardous travel conditions are expected in the High Country this week.

PHOENIX — A cold weather system is due in on Wednesday evening into Thursday in Arizona, which will bring on precipitation around the state. Snow levels could fall as low as 4,500 feet.

A winter weather advisory has been issued from 11 a.m. Wednesday until 5 p.m. Thursday for the Kaibab & Coconino Plateaus, Mogollon Rim, White Mountains, and the Black Mesa and Chuska Mountains. Some areas, like Buffalo Pass, may even see up to 8 inches of snow.

Doney Park  1 to 3  inches 

Flagstaff  3 to 5  inches

Fredonia  1 to 3  inches        

Grand Canyon  2 to 4  inches

Jacob Lake 4 to 6  inches    

North Rim  4 to 6  inches

Sedona  0 to 1  inches    

Valle  1 to 3  inches

Williams  4 to 6  inches

Snow predictions for 10 p.m. Wednesday to noon Thursday:

Alpine  2 to 4  inches    

Buffalo Pass  4 to 8  inches

Dilkon  1 to 3  inches 

Eagar-Sprgrvlle  1 to 2  inches

Forest Lakes  2 to 4  inches    

Ganado  2 to 4  inches

Heber-Overgaard  1 to 3  inches     

Kykotsmovi  1 to 3  inches

Payson  0 to 1  inches

Pine-Strawberry  1 to 3  inches

Pinetop-Lakeside  3 to 5  inches     

Saint Johns  0 to 1  inches

Shonto  1 to 3  inches        

Show Low  2 to 4  inches

Whiteriver  1 to 3  inches     

Window Rock  3 to 5  inches

"Hazardous travel is expected during this time in the High Country," the Flagstaff NWS said. "It only takes a coating of snow to cause travel issues."
