I-10 eastbound lanes reopen after construction truck crash near 40th Street

The crash happened just before 4 a.m. when a construction support vehicle rolled into the eastbound lanes, DPS officials said.

PHOENIX — Interstate 10 has reopened after drivers were significantly delayed by a construction truck crash near 40th Street in the Valley, DPS said.

According to early reports, the crash happened around 3:45 a.m. at milepost 153. The truck that overturned was carrying roughly 1,000 gallons of fuel and oil which began to spill onto the roadway, a Department of Public Safety official said.

HazMat crews were on the scene to asses and contain the fuel leak. Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt in the crash and the tanker was the only vehicle involved.

As of 9 a.m., the highway has reopened.

The cause of the crash is currently unknown.
