MARICOPA COUNTY, Ariz. — Two people are dead and a third is in the hospital after a crash in rural Maricopa County south of Chandler, sheriff's office officials said.
Investigators believe that the two vehicles involved struck each other head-on near Hunt Highway and McQueen Road shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday.
One of the people involved was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and the other two were pronounced dead on the scene.
Right now it's unknown if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash, MCSO officials said.
What led up to the crash is still under investigation.
