Men’s Final Four Dribble draws thousands of kids to downtown Phoenix

The Final Four Dribble is one of many Valley events leading up to the big game.

PHOENIX — It was an unforgettable experience for more than thousands pumped kiddos in downtown Phoenix on Sunday.

That’s where they took part in the Men’s Final Four Dribble presented by Buick.

They started at Heritage Park and dribbled specially branded basketballs over a 0.7-mile course through the heart of downtown Phoenix, ahead of fan fest.

“We are here with the dribble event which is presented by Buick,” said Jay Parry, CEO of the Phoenix local organizing committee. “There is so much excitement, it’s a beautiful day. We’ve got over 3,000 kids and they’re just excited to bounce these guys, in their t-shirts.”

8-year-old Thomas Mills has experience when it comes to the game.

“I’ve played in two basketball leagues,” he said. “I play with the Jr. Suns… I like the 3-pointers and it’s cool.”

And 6-year-old Jaxson Oliphant-Clark was on a roll.

“Dribbling!” he said.

Everyone who participated had the same goal – to have some fun.

Parry said she hopes the kids who took part in this remember to stay active.

“I just want them to have a great time with the Final Four and also, just be active,” she said. “The NCAA is all about education, being active, athletic… and we bring that to life here at this event.”

From here all eyes are looking ahead to the championship game.

“It’s been such a great tournament so far, and we’re just excited to see what happens,” said Parry.
