Big-name transfers coming to Arizona State after major transfer portal weekend

The Sun Devils now have a top 5 transfer portal class in the nation, according to both Rivals and 247Sports after picking up some major players this weekend.

TEMPE, Ariz. — When Arizona State football fans woke up on Saturday morning, they saw a message from a post from Head Coach Kenny Dillingham on X (formerly known as Twitter) promising that Saturday was "gonna be a great day!"

About three hours after Dillingham's post, fans learned exactly why he felt that way as the first of five transfer portal recruits made their commitment to come to Tempe official.

The first commitment came out at about 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Running back Raleek Brown, a four-star transfer ranked as the No. 2 running back available in the transfer portal according to 247Sports, announced that he was transferring from USC to ASU.

"I believe they're going to use me the way I need to be used to showcase my ability," Brown told 247Sports' Greg Biggins on Saturday. "I want to show the world what I can really do and ASU is going to give me that opportunity."

ASU quarterback Jaden Rashada reacted to Brown's commitment by posting on X: "Reunited. That's one."

Brown's commitment was followed about an hour and a half later by a commitment from former Florida safety Kamari Wilson.

Wilson, a top-100 recruit coming out of high school, is ranked as a three-star transfer by 247Sports

Wilson told Devils Digest's Hod Rabino that his trip to visit ASU and his relationship with ASU's quarterback made all the difference when deciding where he would transfer.

"When I came to visit, being from South Florida and never being on the West Coast, I didn't know what to expect. And honestly, my whole perspective changed, and I just fell in love with the coaching staff." Wilson said. "Coach Dillingham has a plan for this program. And nobody knows that me and (ASU QB) Jaden Rashada are like brothers."

Rashada followed Wilson's commitment by posting on X: "What up fam welcome @Kamariwilson1, they don't know since freshman year. REAL FAMILY. Reunited."

About an hour after Wilson's commitment, ASU got some more help on defense as former San Diego State linebacker Zyrus Fiaseu announced his commitment to the Sun Devils.

Fiaseu was a three-star recruit out of Liberty High School in Henderson, Nevada, according to 247Sports. Fiaseu had 66 tackles (31 solo), 11.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks for the Aztecs in 2023 and was named the team's Defensive Player of the Year and MVP.

The final transfer portal commitment of Saturday for the Sun Devils came from former Arkansas offensive lineman Joey Su'a less than an hour after Fiaseu's commitment.

At 6'4" and 346 lbs., Su'a brings some major size to ASU's offensive line. Su'a is also a Valley native but played his high school football in Arkansas and was a three-star prospect in the class of 2023. Su'a redshirted this past season at Arkansas and is listed by 247Sports as a three-star transfer.

The weekend of transfers continued on Sunday with a commitment from former New Mexico offensive lineman Shancco "Ise" Matautia.

He adds to the size of ASU's offensive line, as Matautia is listed at 6'2" and 346 lbs.

All of these players look like they will be in Tempe for multiple years. Su'a has all four years of eligibility remaining. Brown and Wilson have three years. Fiaseu and Matautia have two.

Here is a list of all of the transfers coming to ASU this fall:
