HOUSTON - Bond conditions have been set for the Stovall Middle School teacher accused of having an inappropriate relationship her now 14-year-old student.

Vera is not to have contact with the victim, she must wear a GPS ankle monitor bracelet and not have contact with any children under the age of 17, with the exception of relatives. She is not allowed to go near any school grounds and must be home from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. every night.
She is also not allowed to use the internet at home but is allowed to use it at her job. She reportedly has a new day job, although is it unclear what that job is.
The judge said that Vera breaks any of the terms, her bond will be revoked and she will go back to jail.
Vera turned herself in to authorities Wednesday after a warrant was issued for her arrest. She is charged with continuous sex abuse of a child. She faces the possibility of life behind bars due to the elevated charge.
"The legislature has recently passed a continuous sex assault of a child charge... If a defendant has sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 14 two times or more, over more than a 30-day period, it enhances punishment from 25 to life with the possibility of no parole," said the prosecutor.
Harris County prosecutors say Vera had sex with a 13-year-old student almost daily for nine months. She got pregnant but later had an abortion, she allegedly told investigators.
"As parents, we entrust teachers with a very important role to educate students and we should not be concerned about teachers getting in a sexual relationship with our children while they are at school," said Assistant District Attorney Tiffany Dupree with the Child Abuse Division.
CPS is now investigating the boy's family because they allegedly supported the relationship, according to investigators.
Dupree said it's possible the parents could face criminal charges.
"Failure to report child abuse is a possibility," Dupree said.
Vera told investigators the parents invited her to family gatherings and were excited about the baby when she got pregnant.
