About Josh Burton

Josh Burton is a journalism senior at the Arizona State University Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication

Josh Burton is a journalism senior at the Arizona State University Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. He will complete a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism in 2016 and wants to work as a long-form reporter in broadcast media in the Phoenix area or internationally (specifically Latin America or the Middle East).

Burton is passionate about film and reporting. His most recent projects documented the decline of greyhound dog racing in Arizona and Phoenix’s vibrant but unknown refugee community. This spring he is building on that work to direct short films about the transborder community in Phoenix.

Burton is drawn to injustices and the stories that aren’t mainstream, and tries to tell those stories in creative ways that grab your attention. Once he graduates, Burton plans to partner with an organization or nonprofit to continue the same work on an international scale.
