Yavapai County catches printer error that impacted nearly 4,000 sample ballots: Corrections coming soon

Sample ballots aren't used as official ballots under any circumstances, but the country will be mailing out corrections after a printer error.

YAVAPAI COUNTY, Ariz. — Voters in Yavapai County may be getting a second sample ballot on Tuesday after the county elections department caught a printer error that impacted thousands of sample ballots.

The department's vendor made a printing error on 3,944 sample ballots, according to a public service announcement from the county.

Registered voters were getting sample ballots with images that depicted the opposite party's affiliation, according to Yavapai County Director of Elections Laurin Custis. The issue impacted both parties equally.

The department will mail corrections to the affected household by Tuesday, so don't be surprised if you see another sample ballot in your mailbox.

These sample ballots are not used as official ballots in any circumstances, and are only there to inform voters of what to expect. Sample ballots weren't sent out to people on the Active Early Voter List.
