More tragedy for country icon Loretta Lynn: Her eldest grandson died suddenly on Monday.

Lynn, 84, announced the death of Jeffrey Allen Lynn, 47, on Thursday on her website and Facebook page. Ever the trouper, she said she would postpone, but not cancel, two upcoming shows to be with her family.

Jeffrey lived and worked on his grandmother's ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn., and was the eldest son of Jack Benny Lynn, Loretta's eldest son who drowned in 1984.

Jeffrey is survived by three children, Jory, Katie and Cody, Loretta's great-grandchildren.

Loretta, who had three children by the time she was 19, became a grandmother at age 34 in 1966, two years after her own last two children, twins Peggy and Patsy, were born.

She was scheduled to perform Friday in Miami, Oklahoma and Saturday in Hinton, Oklahoma. The shows have been postponed to July 8 and November 12, respectively.

Besides her son, her eldest daughter, Betty Sue, died in 2013 of emphysema.

Her ranch, where she and late husband Doolittle Lynch raised their six children, is usually billed as "The 7th Largest Attraction in Tennessee," and includes a recording studio, museums, lodging, restaurants, western stores, and other attractions.

She normally holds three holiday concerts annually at the ranch, on Memorial Day weekend, Fourth of July weekend, and Labor Day weekend.
