A teen went to a Halloween party in Queen Creek. Two days later, he died

Family members of the teen boy said he died on Sunday after being assaulted at the party.

QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. — A teen boy is dead after attending a Halloween party over the weekend, according to Queen Creek Police Department.

Family identified the teen as Preston Lord on a GoFundMe page. They said he died after being assaulted at the party.

"I'm just angry because it feels so preventable," Jeanna Pignatiello, who lives in the area where the party was thrown, said.

Pignatiello said she was at home on Saturday night when teens filled her usually quiet Queen Creek neighborhood.

"We had students falling out of cars. We had kids vomiting in our front yard here. We were trying to take care of teenagers with open alcohol... sick," Pignatiello said.

Police said they first received a call about a disturbance around 9 p.m. on Saturday. Officers said a number of teens were leaving the area. They didn't see any illegal activity, so they left.

Police said they responded to a second call about 40 minutes later when they found a teen lying in the road near 194th Street and Via Del Rancho Road.

First responders performed CPR and took Lord to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Family said Lord had a severe brain injury.

Pignatiello told 12News she believes the party could have been stopped before someone lost their life.

"I can't imagine as a parent what that feels like but to know we were calling for an hour at least, maybe two," Pignatiello said. "Where were the police? Where were the adults? How did this get to continue? How was this so out of control?"

If you live near the Queen Creek Ranchettes neighborhood, police are requesting to see your surveillance or doorbell camera video from Saturday night.

Police are investigating. No arrests have been made.
