A homeless man was stabbed near ASU's main campus. ASU PD say the suspect is in custody

A 33-year-old homeless man was stabbed at College Avenue Commons early Saturday, police say.

TEMPE, Ariz. — A suspect in the stabbing of a Tempe man is in custody, police said.

Arizona State University police was notified a person was stabbed at College Avenue Commons, which is a public area near Arizona State University's main campus, early Saturday.

When officers got to the scene, they found a 33-year-old homeless man with stab wounds who was being tended to by others, police said. The victim was treated by the Fire Department and taken to a local hospital. 

The suspect is in custody, police said. Police did not give any details regarding what led up to the incident.
