Share your poetry talent at this Valley open mic, networking night

New dates for grown folks to play games and voice poetry.

Play games, meet people and enjoy dope music!

This won't be your typical art event as Home Base Poetry has been a movement in the Valley since 2009. Poets meet monthly for heartfelt open mic poetry readings. The Home Base Poetry events have attracted some of the best poetry talent and spoken word performers in the country.

Veterans and newcomers get vulnerable and perform on the same stage creating an atmosphere of free expression and epic entertainment. Hosted by founder Harold Branch III who is also known as "HB" and Phoenix born and raised poet Tomas Stanton.

HB says on his website, "with music, food, drinks, vendors and free parking Home Base is a gateway to the mature urban audience."

The final Friday networking game night will take place July 27. The next poetry open mic will take place July 29. Located at The Parsons Center for Health and Wellness, 1101 North Central Avenue.

Entry is $10 all night. Enter the building on 1st Street and the event starts at 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. RSVP on Facebook and if you have any questions email hb@homebasepoetry.com or call 773-386-0319.
