Police ID suspect in Globe bar shooting that left 2 dead, 2 injured

According to investigators, a gunman walked in alone and began shooting.

A man and a woman were killed and two other women were taken to a Phoenix-area hospital with serious injuries after a shooting at a bar in Globe Sunday night.

According to Globe police, officers responded to the shooting at Jammerz Bar just before 10:30 p.m.

Police said four people from the Globe area were shot at the bar. The primary suspect, according to police, is 22-year-old Sterling Randall Hunt, who had been playing pool with the victims before the shooting. He was taken into custody on the San Carlos Indian Reservation on unrelated charges.

Police identified Sterling Randall Hunt, 22, as the primary suspect in the shooting at Jammerz bar in Globe.

A 22-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman died at the scene. Two 20-year-old women were airlifted to Phoenix with critical injuries.

Globe PD Chief Dale Walters called it an average night at the popular bar before the shooting occurred.

Walters said three of the victims went to the back patio to smoke and Hunt came out and started shooting. He left after the shooting ended. Police said he used a semi-automatic handgun.

Police do not have a motive at this time, but Walters called the shooting an isolated incident and said Globe PD is unaware of any ongoing threats.

When the shooting started, Walters said people fled the area. Anyone who may have information about Hunt or the shooting is urged to contact the Globe Police Department at 928-425-5751 and Det. Steve Williams.
