PHOENIX — A Phoenix police officer is in the hospital Saturday after a car crashed into his cruiser while he was responding to a call.
The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. on 7th Street and Bell Road. Investigators say the officer was responding with lights and sirens on and was making a left turn when another car crashed into him.
The marked police Chevrolet Tahoe then collided with two other cars after the impact.
The officer was sent to the hospital as a precaution. No one else was hurt.
Police say traffic will be impacted in the area for several hours.
