Phoenix police cruiser involved in crash in west Phoenix

The crash happened at the intersection of 27th and Glendale avenues on Friday night. Here are the latest details.

PHOENIX — A Phoenix Police Department SUV was involved in a multi-vehicle crash that left another car on its side, according to Sky12 video from the scene.

The crash happened at the intersection of 27th and Glendale avenues, just west of Interstate 17.

Police have not said yet how the crash happened, but video shows the police SUV with damage on the front. A silver SUV is in front of the police cruiser and has tipped over onto its side. Two other cars are on Glendale Avenue, directly behind the car that tipped over. Both of those cars appear to have been hit by the car that is on its side.

Police did say that two officers were in the SUV and two adults were in the car that tipped over.

All four people were taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution. There is no word on how severe their injuries are or if they were hurt at all.

The intersection was shut down on Friday night as detectives investigated the crash.
