What is Phoenix Fan Fusion?

The convention is in downtown Phoenix May 24-26 and features events, cosplay and celebrity meet and greets.

PHOENIX — Ready, set, Phoenix Fan Fusion! The annual convention is back and ready for action. 

Phoenix Fan Fusion, formerly known as Phoenix Comicon or Phoenix Cactus Comicon, will be held downtown May 24-26. From cosplay and special events to vendors and celebrity appearances, there is plenty for attendees to enjoy.

What is Phoenix Fan Fusion?

Phoenix Fan Fusion is your "local, fan and geek driven, large scale, multi-genre, pop-culture convention... with the silly, quirky name," according to the website. 

Throughout the weekend, fans can see cool cosplay, attend events, snag photos with their favorite celebrities and even purchase some items from your favorite vendors, designers and creators.

Where is Phoenix Fan Fusion?

Phoenix Fan Fusion is held at the Phoenix Convention Center. Events are held in ballrooms 120 and 301, and the first floor and second floor meeting rooms, 101-232. The exhibition hall will be held in the lower level halls 1-6. 

What time is Phoenix Fan Fusion?

The convention has a couple of different hours, depending on where you're headed.

Badge redemption, which is located at the three entrances, is open from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Secured entrances are open from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and  9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

The exhibit hall and the Hall of Heroes are open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

How much does it cost to attend Phoenix Fan Fusion?

Depending on how many days of the convention you would like to attend, memberships for adults range from $44 to $99. Children 12 and under can attend Phoenix Fan Fusion for free. 

If you're looking for a VIP membership, you may have to spend a pretty penny: one VIP membership is $595. But the membership comes with a lot of perks, including special VIP lines for the celebrity photo booth and actor autographs, plus an express line into the main ballroom 301 for the celebrity actor panels.

What is the camera policy at Phoenix Fan Fusion?

Attendees are welcome to use still cameras with lenses that do not exceed 85mm in focal length for personal use at Fan Fusion, according to the website.

But keep in mind: Tripods, monopods, external lighting, "selfie sticks", and cameras with lenses with a focal length longer than 85mm are not permitted into the event without a press badge.

What is allowed for cosplay?

If you are looking to cosplay throughout the weekend, take a look at Phoenix Fan Fusion's policies, first. For people looking to wear masks, Phoenix Fan Fusion's website says to have ID available in case security asks you for that information.
