PARADISE VALLEY, Ariz. — Firefighters have gotten control of a two-alarm fire, which broke out at a mansion near 36th Street and Camelback Road in Phoenix on Saturday.
Phoenix Fire says their first crews arrived at the home just after 1:30 Saturday afternoon and saw flames coming from the attic of the home.
Crews then went into the home and searched to see if anyone was still inside. After confirming that everyone had gotten out of the home safely, crews began work to extinguish the fire.
However, the fire had spread and caused the roof above the firefighters to become unstable, forcing them to fight the fire defensively, which meant that they had to fight it from outside of the home and keep it from spreading.
Firefighters from both Phoenix and Scottsdale Fire used a ladder truck and hose lines to contain the fire and keep it from spreading to any other nearby homes.
No one was hurt and the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
Firefighters will be at the home into the evening on Saturday working to put out hot spots.
