Anonymous tips and surveillance video lead investigators to identify the driver as 39-year-old Margarito Valencia Rodriguez.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — The Glendale Police Department arrested a man this week, closing a hit-and-run case from last March.

According to police, officers responded to a crash near 51st Avenue and Camelback Road on March 29, 2018, where they found a man who was riding a bicycle in critical condition. The car that was involved in the crash had left the scene.

Surveillance video showed that 32-year-old Cleon Baker was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a white Ford Econoline van that fled after the crash. Through the investigation, Glendale police received tips and were able to identify 39-year-old Margarito Valencia Rodriguez as the driver and arrested him.

Baker died from complications from the injuries on April 30, police said.

Rodriguez is facing charges for leaving the scene of an accident causing death, along with providing a false name and driving with a suspended license.
