Family pleads for help in finding shooter who killed their son

"If you know anything, if you think you know anything, even if you don't or if you heard something, just call," Tracy Cowans, mother of the shooting victim, said.

PHOENIX - A man was found shot dead inside of his car in Phoenix and now his family is teaming with Silent Witness to find the person responsible.

Through tears and a shaky voice, Tracy Cowans remembers her son, Marcel Cowans.

"I'll never be able to talk to him ever again," Tracy said. "I can't touch him, I can't talk to him."

Marcel was only 23 years old when he was killed, never making it to his 24th birthday.

"He's wonderful," Tracy said. "He was everything. He's my only son. That's it. Only had one son."

But earlier this month on Jan. 9, Marcel was ripped from his family's life.

"Like any dad, like any son, (he was) my best friend," Marcel's father, Ali El-Amin said.

Phoenix police say Marcel and another man, Frederick Eriven, were both found dead in Marcel's car, right next to Desert Star Park near 83rd Avenue and Thomas Road.

Marcel leaves behind his brokenhearted family.

"He loved his nephews, he watched them, he did everything," Cowans said. "He was a very big part of our family."

And now that family has one request for the community.

"If you know anything, if you think you know anything, even if you don't or if you heard something, just call," Tracy said. "It doesn't hurt."
