Arizona native and advertising legend Larry John died this week. He was 70.
John was born in Mesa in 1948 and by the age of 5 was a regular on The Lew King Ranger Show.
His career spanned more than 50 years, and included work in broadcasting and advertising. In 1984, he founded Larry John Wright Advertising, Inc. with life-long friend John Wright.
At different points in his career he owned newspaper, was a morning radio show personality, produced a number of television shows, co-owned a livestock company, was a pizza spokesman, and worked in real estate.
A family man, John leaves behind seven children, 19 grandchildren, and his wife, Michal, who he knew was "the one" after one week of dating.
According to a release, John "was a friend to everyone and was loved and respected by everyone that met him. He will be missed."
