5 displaced by overnight Tempe fire

Five people can't return to their homes after an early-morning fire in Tempe.

TEMPE, Ariz. - Five people can't go back in their homes Tuesday after an early-morning fire. The blaze was first reported around 1:30 a.m. and was put out quickly.

It happened at the Ravenwood Heights apartments near Kyrene and Baseline roads in Tempe.

There wasn't much smoke because water poured from the sprinklers inside of the apartments, dampening the fire. Tempe firefighters say it started in the kitchen in one of the apartments.

Three people live inside that apartment and two in the another apartment that also received water damage. All five were displaced by water damage.

No one was hurt.
